Clubsport variant with more power
As with the previous models, the BMW M235i Racing and the BMW M240i Racing, other platforms around the globe are envisaged in addition to the existing main fields of application such as the NLS Nürburgring Endurance Series and TC America. There will also be a 450 hp version of the M2 CS Racing for racing and trackdays / clubsport from October 2020.
Hard tests passed on the Nordschleife
An intensive testing phase lies behind the BMW M2 CS Racing racing car. After initial test runs in Miramas and Portimão, the first outing under racing conditions followed at the NLS Nürburgring Endurance Series. On the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, the most demanding race track in the world, Beitske Visser and Jörg Weidinger completed a first endurance test and provided the engineers with valuable insights under racing conditions. And the first customer teams are also already successfully on the road with the M2 CS Racing and have already scored a number of victories.
The BMW M2 CS puts 450 hp on the road
In the BMW M2 CS road car, the twin-turbocharged six-cylinder in-line engine based on the power unit of the BMW M4 Competition produces 450 hp (331 kW). The power is perfectly transferred to the racetrack and the road via the standard 6-speed manual transmission or the optional 7-speed M Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (M DKG), the adaptive M sports suspension previously reserved for the BMW M4 models and Cup tyres. The appropriate deceleration is provided by the standard M sports brake with red-painted brake callipers or the optional M carbon ceramic brake.
